Description and Operation

Description

The fuel pressure control valve (FPCV) is installed on the high-pressure fuel pump and regulates the amount of fuel supplied to the injectors according to the signal from the ECM, which is calculated based on the engine condition.

Repair Procedures

Inspection

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

  2. Disconnect the fuel pressure control valve connector.

  3. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the fuel pressure control valve.

  4. Make sure the resistance is within specification.

    Specification: 0.5 Ω [20 °C]
