Description and Operation
Description
The Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) detects the crankshaft position and is one of the most important sensors in the engine control system. If there is no CKP signal, the engine may stop due to the absence of the CKPS signal.
This sensor is installed on the ladder frame and generates an AC voltage by the magnetic flux field created by the sensor and the target wheel as the engine rotates. The target wheel has 58 slots and 2 missing slots at 360 CA (Crank Angle).
