This section will help you load the vehicle and/or trailer correctly so that the weight of the loaded vehicle stays within the model's rated values, with or without a trailer.

Loading the vehicle correctly will ensure that the maximum performance of the vehicle design is restored. Before placing luggage in the vehicle, review the following conditions for determining the rated weights of the vehicle, with or without a trailer, based on the vehicle specifications and the certification label:

Curb Weight

This is the weight of the vehicle including a full fuel tank and all standard equipment. It does not include passengers, luggage, or optional equipment.

Ready-for-Driving Vehicle Weight

This is the weight of a new vehicle as received from the dealer, including dealer-installed accessories.

Luggage Weight

This value includes all the weight added to the Curb Weight, including luggage and optional equipment.

GAW (Gross Axle Weight)

This is the total load on each axle (front and rear), including the Ready-for-Driving Vehicle Weight and the entire cargo load.

GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating)

This is the maximum permissible weight that can be carried by a single axle (front or rear).

These values are listed on the Certification Label.

The total load on each axle must never exceed its assigned GAWR value.

GCW (Gross Combined Weight)

This is the Curb Weight of the vehicle plus the actual Luggage Weight and passengers.

GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating)

This is the maximum permissible weight of the loaded vehicle (including all options, equipment, passengers, and luggage). The GVWR is specified on the Certification Label located on the driver's (or passenger's) door pillar.

Overloading

WARNING - Vehicle Weight The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) and the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) are listed on the manufacturer's label located on the driver's (or passenger's) door.

Exceeding these values may cause an accident or damage to the vehicle. The luggage weight can be calculated by weighing the items (and passengers) before placing them in the vehicle. Be careful not to overload the vehicle.
