Cruise control

~1min read

Cruise control allows you to set the vehicle to maintain a constant speed without keeping your foot on the accelerator pedal.

The system is designed to operate at speeds above approx. 40 km/h.

WARNING
  • If cruise control remains switched on (CRUISE indicator light on the instrument cluster illuminated), cruise control may be activated unintentionally.

When cruise control is not in use, it should be kept switched off (CRUISE indicator light off) to avoid setting a speed unintentionally.

  • Cruise control should only be used when driving on open motorways in good weather.
  • The cruise control system should not be used when maintaining a constant speed may not be safe, e.g.

when driving in heavy or variable traffic, on slippery roads (wet, icy or snow-covered), on winding roads, or on roads with gradients greater than 6%.

  • Whenever cruise control is used, road conditions should be observed with particular care.
CAUTION When driving a vehicle with a manual transmission with cruise control switched on, do not place the gear lever in neutral without depressing the clutch pedal, as this will cause the engine speed to exceed the permitted limit. If this happens, depress the clutch pedal or switch off the cruise control.

NOTE During normal cruise control operation, when the SET switch is activated or when it is re-activated after the brakes have been applied, cruise control will engage after approx. 3 seconds. This delay is normal.

NOTE To activate cruise control, press the brake pedal at least once after turning the ignition switch to ON or after starting the engine. This checks that the brake light switch, an important part of cruise control cancellation, is in normal condition.
