Central Door Locking

PROCEDURE

Central Door Locking 1 – dust cover; 2 – front right door control unit; 3, 7, 9, 11 – tees; 4 – rear right door control unit; 5 – fuel filler door control unit; 6 – bushing; 8 – tailgate control unit; 10 – electric pump; 12 – rear left door control unit; 13 – front left door control unit; 14 – pipe; 15 – electrical wire

The central door locking system consists of an electric pump, pipes, electrical wires, and door lock control units.

Caution For the central door locking to operate normally after a long period of standing or after replacing the electric pump, cycle the system several times.

ELECTRIC PUMP

Central Locking Electric Pump 1 – strap; 2 – connector; 3 – pipe; 4 – tee; 5 – housing; 6 – electric pump

Removal PROCEDURE 1. Remove the strap 1 securing the electric pump. 2. Separate the two halves of the housing 5 and remove the electric pump 6. 3. Disconnect the pipe 3 from the pump fitting. 4. Disconnect the connector 2 with wires from the pump connector. Installation Install the electric pump in the reverse order of removal. DOOR LOCK CONTROL UNIT Removal PROCEDURE 1. Remove the door panel trim (refer to subsection 11.16). 2. Unscrew the two bolts securing the door lock control unit 2 (refer to Figure Central Door Locking). 3. Disconnect the connector with wires from the door lock control unit connector. 4. Disconnect the lock rod. Installation Install the door lock control unit in the reverse order of removal.
