Ausbau

VORGEHENSWEISE

Lenkgetriebe, Ritzel und Spurstangen als Baugruppe vom Fahrzeug abnehmen.

Zerlegen

VORGEHENSWEISE

1. Lenkgetriebe in einem Schraubstock einspannen, dessen Backen mit weichem Material abgedeckt sind.

Beim Einspannen des Lenkgetriebes in den Schraubstock das Lenkgetriebe mit einem Tuch umwickeln und vorsichtig sein, um es beim Schließen des Schraubstocks nicht zu beschädigen.

2. Schelle lösen und Faltenbalg vom Lenkgetriebe abnehmen.
3. Mutter der linken Spurstange mit Meißel lösen.

If the rack is to be removed, remove the left tie rod.

4. Move the rack fully to the right and secure it in a vise with soft jaws. Loosen and remove the left tie rod from the steering gear.

5. Remove the right tie rod by repeating steps 3 and 4.

Prüfung

VORGEHENSWEISE

1. Inspect the tie rods and tie rod ends for damage or deformation.
2. Inspect the boots for damage or distortion.
3. Check the torque required to rotate the ball joint stud.
Ball joint stud rotating torque: 2–5 N•m

4. Check the tie rod ball joint for smooth operation and axial play.

Montage

VORGEHENSWEISE

1. After installing the tie rods, tighten the tie rod nuts to the specified torque and bend the nut flange into the keyway.
Tightening torque: 80–100 N•m
2. Secure the tie rod boot with the metal clamp.

Install the boot clamp after adjusting the front wheel toe-in.

3. Measure the rack stroke.
Total rack stroke: 134 mm

The total rack stroke determines the maximum steering angle of the front wheels.

4. Adjust the tie rod length and tighten the locknut.
Tie rod length: 185.2 mm
Tightening torque: 50–55 N•m

Installation

Install the steering gear and tie rods as an assembly.
