Engine service life
In this manual: Engines
~1min read
All Audi engines easily reach a mileage of 100,000 km. However, whether you can get twice that mileage from the engine depends decisively on driving style and maintenance.
For example, the engine oil temperature is of decisive importance. While the coolant temperature sensor signals the attainment of operating temperature fairly quickly, the engine oil reaches perfect lubricating properties after 10 minutes of driving at the earliest.
Regular oil changes and the use of the oil grade specified in the regulations are also important.
