Description
The Rail Pressure Sensor (RPS) is installed on the delivery pipe and measures the instantaneous fuel pressure in the delivery line. The sensing element (semiconductor element) built into the sensor converts the pressure signal into voltage. Using this signal, the ECM controls the correct injection quantity and timing and adjusts the fuel pressure via the fuel pressure regulator valve if the target pressure differs from the actual pressure calculated from the RPS output signal.
