Inspection

  1. Connect the GDS to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Measure the RPS output voltage at idle and at various engine speeds.
    Condition Output voltage (V)
    Idle approx. 1.2
    1500 rpm 2,0 ~ 2,2
    6300 rpm approx. 2.8

Removal

  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Relieve the residual fuel pressure in the fuel line (refer to "Relieve Residual Fuel Pressure" in this group).
A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be set when the fuel pump relay is removed. Clear the DTC with GDS after performing "Relieve Residual Fuel Pressure".
  3. Remove the intake manifold (refer to "Intake and Exhaust System" in the EM group).
  4. Disconnect the rail pressure sensor connector (A), then remove the sensor (B) from the delivery pipe.

Installation

  • Install the component with the specified torque.
  • Be careful not to drop the component, as internal damage may occur. If dropped, inspect it before installation.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Rail pressure sensor: 29.4 ~ 34 N·m
