Remote Vehicle Control
To use the remote control function with your Android smartphone, Bluetooth must be turned on.
Digital Key Remote Control Connection
1. Open the Hyundai Digital Key app on your smartphone and select the vehicle.
2. If your app allows, press the connect button and use the remote control functions.
Digital Key Remote Control
You can control several functions including door lock/unlock, panic on/off, remote start/remote stop, and tailgate opening.
Information
You cannot lock the vehicle with the Hyundai Digital Key app if:
- The engine START/STOP button is in the ACC or ON position.
- Any door is open.
The remote control connection is automatically disconnected after 5 minutes.
Remote Start Using the Digital Key
Using the Hyundai Digital Key app on your phone, press the door lock button and then press the remote start button (buttons must be pressed for approximately 4 seconds). If all vehicle doors are closed (including the hood and tailgate), the engine will automatically idle.
When the remote start function is activated, the hazard warning lights flash twice before the engine starts. Also note the following:
- The climate control system turns on using the settings you last used in the vehicle.
- To stop the engine, press the Remote Engine Stop button on the Hyundai Digital Key app.
- The engine continues to run for about 10 minutes, then automatically shuts off.
- For the engine to keep running, place the smartphone on the vehicle authentication pad (wireless charging pad) while the engine is running.
For more information, refer to the "Engine START/STOP Button" section in Chapter 6.
Information
- If your windows have metallic or tinted film, this may cause poor Bluetooth communication or reduce digital key performance.
- Only one user should use the remote control function at a time. If several users operate the remote control function simultaneously, communication between the digital key and the vehicle may cause the command to fail. Connect and operate the remote control function only for the necessary user.
- When using the remote control operation and app, the driver (remote control user) must leave the vehicle after confirming that the doors are locked (the chime sounds once and the hazard warning lights flash).
- Remote functions of the Hyundai Digital Key app allow you to control the vehicle from a distance. If the digital key or the vehicle is outside the operating range, the remote control function may be disabled or cancelled.
- If the digital key (smartphone key) is too far from the vehicle, the mobile phone signal is weak, the Bluetooth connection is poor, or the driver with the key moves far away from the vehicle, the remote control function may not work.
- If the remote control is used where the mobile signal is weak, the Bluetooth connection is poor due to multiple Bluetooth devices, or there are objects such as metal or concrete, the response may be delayed or the operating distance may be reduced. Do not cover the smartphone with your hand or place other devices nearby that may cause radio frequency interference. This may result in poor performance.
- If the remote control is not available, use the NFC function to lock or unlock the doors.
- Be careful not to accidentally press the remote control buttons in the digital key app.
Vehicle Information Display
The Hyundai Digital Key app displays vehicle information, such as driving status or door status.
- Select the vehicle and tap the vehicle image. The vehicle information page appears.
- The displayed vehicle data may differ slightly from the current vehicle status.
