Adjusting the head restraint
The head restraints in the Kia Opirus (2003–2012) provide more than comfort. They actively contribute to safety. Thanks to simple height adjustment and tilt mechanism, every occupant can achieve an ergonomically ideal head position. The head restraints can also be removed quickly, for example for cleaning or for installing special restraint systems. The solid construction ensures durability and maximum protection.
Adjusting the head restraint forward and rearward
The head restraint can be set to three different positions.
To do so, pull the head restraint forward. To return the head restraint to the rear position, pull the head restraint forward until it reaches the stop, then release it.
Adjust the head restraint so that it properly supports your head and neck.

Adjusting the head restraint height
The head restraint not only provides comfort, it also supports the head and neck in the event of a collision.
To raise the head restraint to a higher position (1), pull it up to the desired position. To lower the head restraint, press and hold the release button (2) and push the head restraint down to the desired position (3).

Removing the head restraint
To remove the head restraint, pull it up until it reaches the stop. Press the release button (1) and pull the head restraint upward (2) out of the seatback.
WARNING- For maximum effectiveness in an accident, adjust the head restraint so that the center of the head restraint is level with your eyes. Also adjust it so that the distance to your head is about the width of one fist. For this reason, using an additional cushion that increases the distance between your back and the seatback is not recommended.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the head restraints removed, as this may result in serious occupant injury. When used correctly, head restraints can help protect against neck injuries.
- Do not adjust the head restraint height while driving.

The head restraints of the Kia Opirus 2003–2011 contribute decisively to safety and optimally support the neck and head in a collision. Their simple height and tilt adjustment allows individual fitting for every occupant.
