repair procedures
INSPECTION
Check the clearance between the stop lamp switch and the bracket.
Brake light switch clearance (A): 1.0 ~ 2.0 mm

If the clearance between the brake light switch and the bracket is not 1.0 - 2.0 mm, check the mounting clip and other parts, and make sure the brake light switch is within the specified range.
If everything is normal, reinstall the brake light switch and check the clearance again.
TEST
Inspect the stop lamp switch.
Connect a multimeter to the brake light switch connector and check for continuity while pressing and releasing the plunger of the brake light switch.
The brake light switch is in good condition when there is no continuity while the plunger is pressed.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
Turn the ignition "OFF" and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the lower instrument panel trim.
(Refer to Body - "Lower Instrument Panel Trim")
Disconnect the brake light switch connector (A).

Pull the stopper plate (A) in the direction of the arrow.

Turn the brake switch counterclockwise 45° and remove it.

Hold the brake pedal arm and fully insert the brake switch until the contact part is visible.

After installation, turn the brake switch clockwise 45° and attach the stopper plate by pressing it in.
