Mechanical Key

  • To unlock the doors, turn the key toward the rear of the vehicle. To lock the doors, turn the key toward the front of the vehicle.
  • When the doors are locked/unlocked with the key, all vehicle doors will be locked/unlocked automatically.
  • When the driver's door is locked/unlocked with the key, all vehicle doors will be locked/unlocked automatically. (if equipped)
  • When the doors are unlocked, they can be opened by pulling the outside handle.
  • When closing the doors, push them closed by hand. Make sure the doors are securely closed.

Remote Control/Smart Key

  • The doors can be locked and unlocked with the remote control (or smart key). (if equipped)
  • The doors can be locked and unlocked by pressing the outside door handle button while carrying the smart key nearby.
  • When the doors are unlocked, they can be opened by pulling the outside handle.
  • When closing the doors, push them closed by hand. Make sure the doors are securely closed.

NOTE

  • In cold and humid climates, the locks and door mechanisms may not operate properly due to freezing.
  • If the doors are locked/unlocked repeatedly in quick succession, whether with the key or the door lock switch, the system may temporarily stop operating to protect the circuits and prevent damage to system components.
WARNING
  • If the doors are not closed securely, they may open again.
  • Be careful not to pinch anyone's hand or other body part when closing the doors.

Emergency Equipment (if equipped)

If the central door lock switch does not operate, the only way to lock the doors is to use the mechanical key inserted into the door keyhole from outside.

For doors without an outside key hole, lock them as follows:

  1. Open the door.
  2. Insert the key into the emergency lock hole and turn it horizontally to the locked position.
  3. Close the door securely.

NOTE If the tailgate is closed while the central door lock cannot be operated electrically, it may not be possible to open the tailgate.
