VORGEHENSWEISE

1. Remove the cotter pins and loosen the nuts securing the tie rod end ball joint studs to the knuckles. Using the special tool 09568–31000, disconnect the tie rod end ball joints from the knuckles.
2. Remove the bolt connecting the universal joint to the steering gear pinion shaft.
3. Drain the fluid from the power steering system.

4. Disconnect the pressure hose and the return hose from the steering gear housing.
5. Remove the steering gear housing mounting bolts.
6. Remove the rear roll stopper (rear engine mount).
7. Remove the stabilizer bar.

8. Move the steering gear and remove it from the right side of the vehicle.

When removing the steering gear, be careful not to damage the bellows.
