Tie Rod Swing Resistance

VORGEHENSWEISE

1. Swing the tie rod 10 times.
2. Using a spring scale, measure the force required to swing the tie rod.

Tie rod swing force: 2–5 N

3. If the measured value exceeds the specification, replace the tie rod assembly.

If the measured value is lower than the specification and the tie rod swings smoothly without play, the tie rod can be installed on the vehicle. However, if the measured value is below 4.3 N, replace the tie rod.
