The control unit regulates the engine mixture composition via the pressure regulator. To base this control on input data, the control unit receives information on engine temperature, engine speed, starting processes and throttle valve position (from idle to full load). The lambda sensor signal is also added, as well as additional data from the ignition system, the atmospheric pressure sensor and the automatic transmission.


The control unit is located, as on all Audi 80 models, in the passenger compartment on the right, between the heater duct and the engine compartment bulkhead.
