KE-III-Jetronic Injection System

Idle speed control valve

~1min read

Function: the valve opens an air passage that bypasses the throttle valve. The effect: due to the increased amount of air, the air flow sensor registers that the throttle valve has opened slightly, and therefore supplies a correspondingly increased fuel quantity. Desired result: increase in engine speed. The amount of additional air is determined by the KE-III-Jetronic control unit according to the engine speed at the given moment. Thus the electronics aims to return the engine speed to the specified range.
