KE-III-Jetronic Injection System

Air Flow Sensor Test

~1min read

TEST PROCEDURE

Warm the engine to operating temperature, or run the warm engine for approx. 10 s before testing.

After loosening the clamps, remove the intake hose between the air flow sensor and the throttle valve housing.

Check the control plunger: on the side facing the injection line, it must be 1.9 mm below the upper edge of the narrow cylindrical section of the air horn, and no more than 3 mm deeper at most.

If the plunger is not positioned correctly, lift it up and adjust its position by bending the retaining wire bracket at the bottom in the air flow sensor channel. Do NOT bend the spring!
Now check whether the control plunger touches the walls.

If it does, loosen the central retaining screw and re-center the plunger.

After this adjustment, recheck the idle speed and CO content.
