TEST PROCEDURE

Run the engine briefly (approx. 10 s) or crank with the starter until full fuel pressure is built up.

Remove the air cleaner cover and the replaceable air filter element.

Remove the large air duct between the air flow sensor and the throttle valve housing.

The control plunger is now visible; pull it fully upward. This must be done at a constant force throughout.

When the control plunger is pressed quickly, no resistance should be felt. Otherwise, replace the air flow sensor.

If the control plunger is difficult to pull up but drops very easily, the metering plunger in the fuel distributor is sticking. Replace the fuel distributor.
