Pressure regulator
The pressure regulator is responsible for the mixture composition. This occurs as follows: fuel flow to the lower chambers (through which the mixture quantity can be influenced) takes place via the pressure regulator. If it passes a large amount of fuel into the lower chambers, the pressure in the lower chambers increases. Consequence: the diaphragms of the so-called differential pressure valves deflect toward the valve openings, so less fuel reaches the injection nozzles. The reverse, of course, works in the same way.
The desired result is achieved: the fuel quantity changes in proportion to the incoming air, and the mixture is enriched or leaned.
The pressure regulator receives commands from the control unit. This depends on lambda control, engine temperature and engine load.
