Removing the Fuel Injectors

~1min read

Many fuel injection components do not require additional removal descriptions. Where explanations are necessary, they are provided in the following sections.

PROCEDURE

Remove the upper section of the intake manifold.

Unscrew the injector hold-down bolts.

Using pliers, pull the injector out together with the adapter.

Leave the fuel line connected to prevent dirt from entering the injector.

During installation, moisten the injector rubber O-rings and the inserts with gasoline to allow easy fitting onto the sealing surface.

If the injector is installed dry, there is a risk that the rubber O-ring will be pinched and will not seal properly. This will cause engine running faults, for example rough idle, due to unmetered air entering.

Damaged or cracked O-rings must be replaced.

Tighten the injector hold-down bolts to 10 N·m.
