Removal of Components

The injectors (white arrows) can only be removed together with the fuel distributor. To do this, loosen the fuel distributor retaining bolts (black arrows).

Removing the Air Flow Meter
Many components of the injection system do not require additional removal instructions. Exceptions are described in the following sections.

PROCEDURE

Loosen the air flow meter hose clamp.

Disconnect the air flow meter connector.

Remove the upper part of the air filter together with the air flow meter, as described in the chapter "Air Filter and Intake Ducts".

Removing the Injectors
PROCEDURE

Remove the intake hose between the air filter (air flow meter) and the engine.

Disconnect the ignition high-tension leads and set them aside.

Disconnect the injector connectors.

Unscrew the fuel distributor from the engine intake manifold.

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.

Carefully pull the fuel distributor with all six injectors upward off the engine intake manifold.

To remove a single injector, remove the retaining clip from the fuel distributor and separate the injector.

Installation: before installing, replace the O-rings on all injectors.

Lubricate all O-rings with new engine oil.

Insert each injector carefully, one at a time, so that no O-ring is pinched or otherwise damaged.
