Parking lights and low beams

Parking lights

Low beams / Xenon headlights*
Xenon headlights*
Xenon headlights illuminate the road ahead of the vehicle, as well as its side areas, significantly better and more evenly than conventional halogen headlights.

Xenon headlights
In xenon headlights, light is produced not by a filament but by an electric arc. A mixture of inert gases and metal vapors in the quartz bulb glows under the influence of high voltage. A lower voltage is then applied to maintain the arc. There is a slight delay when the lights are switched on. Maximum brightness is reached after approximately 15 seconds.
Xenon headlights improve visibility in poor weather and in complex traffic situations, for example when driving at night in the rain on a road under construction without markings.
Xenon headlights contribute significantly to road safety, as they allow the driver to see more easily, for example, pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists moving along the right edge of the roadway.
Lights-on warning
When you turn the key to position 0, a buzzer sounds for several seconds to remind you that the lights have not been switched off.
For vehicles with a text display of the diagnostic system*: the reminder is shown on the display.
Daytime running lights
If desired, the light switch can be left in the second detent position. In this case, the exterior lights will also go out when the ignition is switched off.
On some models, the daytime running lights switch on automatically when the ignition key is turned to position 2 if the light switch is in position 0.
Instrument panel lighting

Instrument panel lighting
The brightness of the lighting is adjusted by turning the knurled wheel.
Headlight aim adjustment

Headlight aim adjustment
The headlight aim can be adjusted according to the vehicle load to prevent the headlights from dazzling drivers of oncoming vehicles.
Figures in parentheses apply to driving with a trailer.
0 (1) = 1-2 persons without luggage
1 (1) = 5 persons without luggage
1 (2) = 5 persons with luggage
2 (2) = 1 person, luggage compartment fully loaded
Vehicles with automatic headlight levelling*: position 0, regardless of load.
Exception:
1 person, luggage compartment fully loaded, driving with a trailer - position 1.
Observe the permissible axle load for the rear axle (refer to Specifications).
Headlight flasher / parking lights

Headlight flasher / parking lights 1 — high beam
2 — headlight flasher (the blue indicator lamp illuminates when activated)
3 — parking lights
Parking lights left or right
