Independent heating and ventilation systems
Auxiliary Heating System*
If your vehicle is equipped with an auxiliary heating system, it also includes an auxiliary ventilation system. However, it is also possible that only an auxiliary ventilation system is installed.
Both systems are controlled from the multi-information display or from the on-board monitor.
The start time can be programmed in advance so that you can enter a vehicle with a warmed-up interior. In addition, removal of snow and ice is made easier.
The auxiliary heating system switches off automatically after 30 minutes of operation. It can also be switched on or off directly. Due to high power consumption, do not switch the system on twice in succession without allowing the battery to recharge while driving between switch-on operations.
If the auxiliary heating system start time is programmed in advance, the system is put into standby when the outside air temperature is below 16°C; with direct activation, it operates regardless of temperature.
Heated air is automatically directed to the windshield, side windows and footwell. The heater operates at full capacity.
When the ignition key is in position 1, you can adjust the interior air temperature, air volume and air distribution mode.
The system continues to operate for some time after it is switched off (when the indicator lamp is already off).
In warm weather, switch the system on and off approximately once a month, with an operating time of about 5 minutes.
Never use the system in enclosed spaces. The system must always be switched off when refueling the vehicle.
Auxiliary Ventilation System*
The blower of the heating/automatic air conditioning system is used to ventilate and reduce the temperature inside the vehicle.
The start time of the system can be programmed. Ventilation operates for 30 minutes. It can also be switched on and off directly. Due to high power consumption, do not switch the auxiliary ventilation on twice in succession without allowing the battery to recharge while driving between switch-on operations.
If the auxiliary ventilation start time is programmed in advance, the system is put into standby when the outside air temperature is above 16°C; with direct activation, it operates regardless of temperature. The vehicle must not be in motion during this operation.
Air is supplied through the adjustable air outlets in the upper part of the instrument panel, directing it toward the upper body. Therefore, for the auxiliary ventilation to operate, these outlets must be open.
When the ignition key is in position 1, you can adjust the air volume and air distribution mode in the same way as when using the auxiliary heating system.

Remote Control of Auxiliary Heating System
1 — Switch-on button
2 — Antenna
3 — Indicator lamp
4 — Switch-off button
5 — Batteries
6 — Battery compartment cover
The remote control allows you to switch the auxiliary heating system on and off. The average operating range is approximately 350 meters.
In some areas, remote control operation may be disrupted by other systems or devices using the same frequency.
The remote control can be used to operate the auxiliary heating system if it is not already running as a result of direct or programmed activation.
SWITCHING ON
1. Fully extend the antenna.
2. Press button 1. Indicator lamp 3 will flash three times and then remain lit for the entire operating time (maximum 30 minutes).
3. Fully retract the antenna, but not during the three flashes of the indicator lamp.
SWITCHING OFF
1. Fully extend the antenna.
2. Press button 4. The indicator lamp will flash three times and go out.
3. Fully retract the antenna.
Batteries
Replace the batteries if the indicator lamp does not flash when the auxiliary heating system is switched on.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the battery compartment cover 6.
2. Install two batteries of the same type (LR 1). The battery type and correct orientation are embossed on the bottom of the compartment.
3. Snap the cover back into place.
Transmitter Initialization
If you use a new transmitter, for example, to replace a faulty one or to use an additional transmitter, it must be initialized. No more than two transmitters may be used.
If any of the time periods specified below is not observed, initialization will fail and the procedure must be repeated.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the auxiliary heating system fuse from its holder (in the luggage compartment on the right; refer to the Electrical Equipment chapter) and reinstall it after 10 seconds.
2. Immediately after installing the fuse, press button 4 within 3 seconds.
3. Then press button 1 within 5 seconds.
4. After another 3 seconds, the system is ready for operation.
