Cruise Control

The system allows you to store and automatically maintain the required speed at no less than 30 km/h.

The system can be switched on after turning the ignition key to position 1 by pressing the button shown by the arrow. The indicator lamp on the instrument cluster illuminates.

Pressing the button again switches the system off.

1. Set/accelerate button
Press the button.
The current vehicle speed is stored in the system and maintained. Each subsequent press of the button increases the speed by 1 km/h.
If the button is held down, the vehicle accelerates without pressing the accelerator pedal. When the button is released, the speed reached at that moment is stored and maintained.

2. Decelerate button
Press the button.
If cruise control is already active, each press of the button reduces the set speed by 1 km/h.
If the button is held down while cruise control is active, the throttle opening is automatically reduced and the vehicle decelerates. When the button is released, the speed reached at that moment is stored and maintained.

3. Resume button
Press the button.
The last stored set speed is recalled. The vehicle is first brought to this speed and then maintained at it.

4. Cancel button
Press the button.
Cruise control is deactivated immediately.

In addition, the system switches off automatically in the following cases:
- When braking, when the clutch is disengaged, or when the automatic transmission selector lever is moved from position D to N.
- For BMW 520i, 523i, 528i, 535i, 540i: if the set speed is exceeded for more than 30 s and by more than 16 km/h.
- For BMW 525tds: if the set speed is exceeded by more than 16 km/h or reduced by more than 20 km/h.

When the ignition key is turned to position 0, the system switches off and the stored set speed is erased.

Do not use cruise control on winding roads, in heavy traffic that does not allow a steady speed, or on slippery roads (snow, rain, ice) or loose surfaces (gravel, sand). Otherwise, your driving style will not match the traffic situation.
