Automatic Stability Control with Traction Control (ASC+T)

~1min read
Эта система повышает устойчивость движения, особенно при ускорениях и на

This system improves driving stability, especially during acceleration and when cornering.

The Automatic Stability Control with Traction Control ASC+T prevents wheel spin and ensures the greatest possible driving stability.

Wheel sensors determine the wheel rotational speeds. Based on this, the control system detects wheel spin of the drive wheels. Depending on road conditions, two control mechanisms are used. When there is a large excess of power and, consequently, drive wheel spin, engine torque is reduced. In addition, the spinning drive wheel is automatically braked without driver intervention. This achieves an effect comparable to a controlled limited-slip differential. Such braking is possible up to a speed of 40 km/h. At speeds above 40 km/h, but not exceeding 100 km/h, braking of lower intensity is used to increase traction.

The system is activated after each engine start.

The indicator lamp in the instrument cluster goes out some time after the ignition is switched on.

Deactivating the system
Press the button. The indicator lamp will light up.

Reactivating the system
Press the button again. The indicator lamp will go out.

Flashing indicator lamp
Flashing means that the system is regulating traction according to the actual driving conditions.

If the indicator lamp does not go out after starting the engine, or comes on while driving, this indicates a system malfunction. However, the vehicle remains safe to drive without ASC+T. For repairs, contact a BMW service center.
