Window lifters

~3min read

The window lifters of the Citroën C6 (1st gen, 2005–2012) can be operated electrically and conveniently, directly from the driver's seat. One-touch operation allows the windows to be fully opened or closed at the press of a button. An anti-trap function ensures safety by automatically reversing the window if an obstruction is detected. The function remains available briefly even after the ignition is switched off. The child lock allows operation at the rear to be disabled, which is particularly important when children are travelling. The system is complemented by clear safety information for all passengers.

Electric operation

Elektrische einstellung

From the driver's seat, the electric window lifters can be operated using the controls on the door.

One-touch operation

If the switch is pressed to the first detent, the window moves for as long as the switch is held.

Pressing the switch past the second detent fully opens or closes the window. Pressing the switch again stops the movement.

Note: The window lifter can also be operated for a certain time after the ignition has been switched off.

Anti-trap protection

The anti-trap function stops the window when closing. If the glass meets an obstruction, it is opened again.

After disconnecting the battery or in case of a malfunction, the anti-trap function must be reinitialised for each window lifter:

  • Fully open the window and then close it again. It closes by a few centimetres with each operation.
  • Repeat the operation until the window is fully closed.
After the window has fully closed, keep the switch pressed for at least a few seconds.

IMPORTANT

During this procedure the anti-trap function is not active.

Child lock

It disables the rear window lifter controls and the opening of the rear doors from the inside.

With Pack Lounge seats, the longitudinal adjustment and the adjustment of the front seat from the rear are also disabled.

It is activated by pressing switch A on the window lifter control panel.

A message appears to confirm that the child lock is activated.

Opening from the outside and use of the rear window lifters from the front remain possible.

Pay attention to passengers, particularly children, when the windows are moving.

Remove the ignition key whenever leaving the vehicle, even briefly.

If pinching occurs while adjusting the window lifters, change the direction of movement of the window. To do so, press the corresponding switch.

When operating the passenger window switch, the driver must make sure that nobody obstructs the correct closing of the windows.

The driver must make sure that the occupants operate the window lifters correctly.

When closing the windows and sunroof with the remote control, make sure that nobody obstructs the correct closing of the windows and sunroof.
