Remote Control

The remote control of the Citroën C6 (I Gen) offers a range of vehicle control functions. In addition to locking and unlocking, it includes superlocking, the follow-me-home lighting function and folding of the exterior mirrors. Note:

• Simultaneous use of other radio-frequency devices (mobile phone, home alarm system, etc.) may temporarily affect the function of the remote control.
• If a malfunction persists, the remote control must be reinitialised.

Central unlocking

Press control A to unlock your vehicle.

This setting is confirmed by rapid flashing of the turn signals and by the interior light coming on (when this function is activated).

The exterior mirrors unfold.

Central locking - closing the windows and sunroof - superlocking

• A short press on control B locks the vehicle.
• A long press on control B locks the vehicle and closes the windows and sunroof.
• Pressing control B twice activates superlocking.

The doors cannot be opened either from outside or from inside.

This setting is confirmed by the turn signals switching on for about 2 seconds and by the interior light switching off. The exterior mirrors then fold in.

If a door or the boot is open or not properly closed, central locking does not take place.

When closing the windows and sunroof with the remote control, make sure that nobody obstructs the correct closing of the windows and sunroof.

If people are still inside the vehicle, activating superlocking can be dangerous, because the vehicle cannot be unlocked from inside without the remote control.

Follow-me-home lighting function

Press control C to activate the follow-me-home lighting function (the parking and dipped headlights stay on for about one minute).

Pressing again before the timer expires cancels the follow-me-home lighting function.

Locating the vehicle

To locate the vehicle in a car park, press control B. The interior lights and turn signals flash for a few seconds. The vehicle stays locked.

Extending and retracting the key

Control D extends and retracts the key from the remote control housing.

If control D is not pressed, the key mechanism may be damaged.

Replacing the remote control battery

Release the housing to access the battery.

Battery: CR0523, 3 V.

After replacing the battery, the remote control must be reinitialised.

To do this, switch on the ignition and immediately press control B on the remote control until the requested setting is confirmed. This procedure may take about ten seconds.

Note: Carefully write down the key and remote control numbers on the ASSISTANCE card. Keep this card in a safe place.

Do not throw away used batteries. You can return them to a CITROËN authorised dealer or to known collection points. As an end user, you are legally obliged to return used batteries under §12 para. 2 of the German Battery Ordinance (BattV).

Except during reinitialisation, the remote control does not work while the key is in the ignition lock, even when the ignition is switched off.

Important! Accidental pressing of the remote control in a pocket or bag can also cause the doors to unlock.

If no door is opened within 30 seconds of unlocking, the doors lock automatically again.

Caution: Fitting a non-compliant replacement battery may cause damage.

Use only batteries that are identical or equivalent to the batteries recommended by CITROËN.
