Adaptive Bi-Xenon headlamps

The adaptive Bi-Xenon headlamps in the Citroën C6 (1st generation, 2005–2012) automatically adjust to the course of the road. When the dipped beam or high beam is switched on, this function considerably improves illumination in bends, providing a noticeable gain in driving safety. This chapter explains how to activate and deactivate the function and its requirements. At low speed or in reverse, the system remains inactive. Information on fault detection via warning lamps and on the recommended replacement of the xenon lamps is also provided. This technology is an example of the high safety and comfort standards of the C6.

With the dipped beam or high beam switched on, the adaptive headlamps allow the light beam to follow the course of the road.

This considerably improves the quality of cornering illumination.

Note: Automatic headlamp levelling prevents dazzling other road users.

Activation/deactivation

This function is activated by default and can be activated/deactivated in the "Main menu" of the multifunction display. See "Multifunction display".

The activated/deactivated status is retained when the engine is switched off.

Note: At a speed of zero, at very low speed or in reverse, this function is not active.

In the event of a malfunction, the "Dipped beam" warning lamp flashes. Have the system checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

If a xenon lamp is defective, it is recommended to replace all xenon lamps at the same time.
