Intermediate Clutch
For intermediate (2,6) clutch operation,

| Intermediate (2,6) clutch not applied | SSC solenoid filter clogged | CLEAN or INSTALL a new solenoid. REFER TO: Solenoid (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Removal and Installation). |
| SSC mechanically stuck in the OFF position | INSTALL a new solenoid. REFER TO: Solenoid (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Removal and Installation). |

| Intermediate (2,6) clutch regulator valve stuck in the OFF position | DISASSEMBLE, CLEAN and INSPECT the intermediate (2,6) clutch regulator valve. If the bore or valve is damaged, INSTALL a new main control valve body. REFER TO: Main Control Valve Body (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| SSC VBS CB26, CB26 hydraulic circuits blocked or leaking | DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the main control valve body passages and separator plate for debris/restriction. CLEAN as necessary. REFER TO: Main Control Valve Body (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| CB26 hydraulic circuit restricted or leaking | DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the transmission case passages for debris/restriction. CLEAN as necessary. REFER TO: Transmission Case (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| Rear Planetary Sun Gear and Shell Assembly | INSPECT the sun gear and housing for wear and damage. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER TO: Transmission Case (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| Intermediate (2,6) clutch friction plates | DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the intermediate (2,6) clutch pack friction and steel plates. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER TO: Transmission Case (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| VBS CB26, CB26 hydraulic circuits leaking | DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the main control valve body passages and separator plate for leakage. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER TO: Main Control Valve Body (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| Rear Planetary Sun Gear and Shell Assembly | INSPECT the sun gear and housing for damage that would prevent free rotation. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER TO: Transmission (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| Intermediate (2,6) clutch friction plates | DISASSEMBLE and INSPECT the intermediate (2,6) clutch pack friction and steel plates. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER TO: Transmission Case (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| Intermediate (2,6) clutch piston return spring | INSPECT the return spring for correct installation and damage. INSTALL new components as necessary. REFER TO: Transmission Case (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Overhaul). |

| Intermediate (2,6) clutch delayed/soft/slipping engagement | Incorrect shift strategy programmed in PCM | Remove the SSC and record the solenoid range number. REFER TO: Solenoid (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Removal and Installation). Using a diagnostic scan tool, verify that the correct range number is stored in the PCM. If the range numbers do not match, INSTALL a new SSC with the correct range number. |
| SSC solenoid filter partially restricted or clogged | CLEAN or INSTALL a new solenoid. REFER TO: Solenoid (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Removal and Installation). |

Using a diagnostic scan tool, verify that the correct range number is stored in the PCM. If the range numbers do not match, INSTALL a new SSC with the correct range number. |
