Output State Control Enable Criteria

Retrieve continuous codes and perform KOEO and KOER self-tests as required before using Output State Control. Any DTCs related to the TR sensor, TSS sensor, or OSS sensor must be cleared, otherwise the PCM will not allow output state control.

SSA_AMP#, SSB_AMP#, SSC_AMP#, SSD_AMP#, SSE_AMP#, TCC_AMP#

  • When checking the electrical circuit, the current can be commanded for individual shift solenoids. To enable OSC, perform the following:
    • - TR must be in either PARK or NEUTRAL.
    • - KOEO or KOER with engine at idle (APP1 = 0%)

LINE_DSD#

  • Transmission line pressure can be commanded higher or lower while monitoring actual line pressure on a pressure gauge. To enable OSC, perform the following:
    • - TR must be in either PARK or NEUTRAL.
    • - KOER with engine idle speed above 1000 rpm (APP1 = 0%)

GEAR_OSC#

  • Individual gears can be commanded using GEAR_OSC# while road testing the vehicle. Functionality is similar to using the Select Shift +/- button on vehicles equipped with Select Shift. The PCM/TCM may not allow certain gears if the engine speed/vehicle speed combination could cause engine damage. To enable OSC, perform the following:
    • - TR must be in DRIVE
    • - VSS greater than 10 km/h.

TCC_OSC#

  • Some vehicle concerns may be more noticeable when the torque converter clutch is applied or released. For example, a small cylinder misfire may not be felt during a road test until additional load is applied with the torque converter clutch engaged. To enable OSC, perform the following:
    • - TR must be in DRIVE
    • - Engine speed greater than 1200 rpm.
    • - GEAR equal to 3, 4, 5, or 6
    • - VSS greater than 3 km/h
    • - BPP = OFF
    • - TFT from 15 °C to 115 °C

HRSH_SHFT#

  • Some transmission concerns can be identified by a temporary pressure increase during gear shifts. To enable OSC:
    • - TR must be in Park, Rev, N, or DRIVE.
    • - Does not operate in M, 2, 1
