Main Control Valve Body and Solenoid Body
- Remove the bolts securing the solenoid body to the valve body and separate the solenoid body from the valve body.

- Remove the separator plate-to-solenoid body bolts, then remove and discard the separator plate.

Main regulator valve body
Remove the check balls, solenoid damper and spring.- Inspect the balls.
- Solenoid Damper and Spring

- Remove the manual valve.

NOTICE: Remove the valves by tapping the valve body with the palm of your hand to slide the valves out of the bores, or by threading a 4 mm bolt into the valves and pulling them out. If necessary, use a pick, exercising extreme care not to damage the valves or bores. If necessary, disassemble the main control valve body components into small groups. Arrange the parts in the order they are removed to avoid mixing up similar parts.
Compress the valve springs with a screwdriver and remove the magnetic retainers. Use a pick to remove the servo bypass valve. Remove the individual valves and springs from the main control valve body by tapping the valve body with the palm of your hand to slide the valves out of the bores. If necessary, thread a 4 mm bolt into the valves to remove them.
Use common equipment: Flat-bladed screwdriver
Use common equipment: Magnetic pick-up tool
NOTICE: Do not nick or polish the valves, and do not damage the valve bores. Damage may occur. If the valves do not move freely, install a new valve body assembly.
Clean the valves, springs and main control valve body.
NOTICE: Do not nick or polish the valves, and do not damage the valve bores. Damage may occur. If the valves do not move freely, install a new valve body assembly.
Install the valves, springs and retainer clips in the main control valve body. For valve and spring location
Refer to: Main Control Valve Body (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Description and Operation).
- Install the manual valve into the valve body.

Install the check balls, spring and solenoid damper.- Inspect the balls.
- Solenoid Damper and Spring

Solenoid Body
Remove the solenoid body dampers and springs.- Damper Pistons and Springs
- Elastomer Damper

- Compress the valve springs and remove the magnetic retainers. Remove the individual valves and springs from the solenoid body by tapping it with the palm of your hand to slide the valves out of the bore.
Use common equipment: Flat-bladed screwdriver
Use common equipment: Magnetic pick-up tool
NOTICE: Be careful not to bend or twist the transmission internal wiring harness frame or the solenoid terminals when removing the transmission internal wiring harness frame. Damage may occur.
Remove the screws and carefully lift the transmission internal wiring harness frame from the solenoids by raising it straight up evenly.
NOTICE: Solenoids are calibrated at the factory and are not all identical. Failure to mark the solenoids for the ports they were originally in may result in mixing up the solenoids and cause transmission damage or harsh shifting.
Using a marker, number the solenoids and the solenoid body to match the ports where the solenoids are located in the solenoid body.
- Remove the solenoid retaining pins.
Use common equipment: Long-nose pliers.
- Remove the solenoids from the solenoid body.

NOTICE: Be careful not to wash off the numbers on the solenoids or the solenoid body. Failure to install the solenoids in the ports they were originally in may result in transmission damage or harsh shifting.
NOTICE: Do not nick or polish the valves, and do not damage the valve bores. Damage may occur. If the valves do not move freely during assembly, install a new solenoid body.
Clean and inspect the solenoid body, solenoids and valve assemblies for damage.
- Inspect the solenoid screens for debris that may restrict fluid flow through the screen.

NOTICE: Solenoids are calibrated at the factory and are not all the same. Failure to install the solenoids into the ports they were originally in may result in transmission damage or harsh shifting.
If new solenoids are not being installed, install the solenoids into their corresponding ports in the solenoid body.
- LPC solenoid (typically high) part number 7G383
- SSC (typically low) part number 7G136
- TCC solenoid (typically low) part number 7G136
- SSE (normally closed [OFF]) part number 7G484
- SSA (normally low) part number 7G136
- SSB (normally high) part number 7G383
- SSD (normally high) part number 7G383
- Solenoid body part number 7G391

- When installing new solenoids, note the color of the plastic nozzle and the large O-ring. High-pressure solenoids, such as the LPC, SSB and SSD solenoids, have black plastic nozzles and orange O-rings. Low-pressure solenoids, such as the TCC, SSA and SSC solenoids, have brown plastic nozzles and green O-rings. Solenoids must only be replaced with solenoids of the same color.

- Determine the part number suffix by checking the solenoid range number engraved on the side of the solenoid. The range number is located next to the two-dimensional matrix bar code on the side of the solenoid and will be 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. Identify the part number suffix and match the new base solenoid part number and suffix to the old solenoid.

- Install the solenoid(s) into the solenoid body.

- Install the solenoid retaining pin (studs).

- Install the special tools in the solenoid body to align the transmission internal wiring harness frame for installation.
Use special service tool: 307-636 Alignment Pins - Valve Body.
NOTICE: Be careful not to bend or twist the transmission internal wiring harness frame or the solenoid terminals when removing the transmission internal wiring harness frame. Damage may occur.
Position the transmission internal wiring harness frame on the guide pins and carefully install the internal transmission wiring harness frame, pressing it straight into the solenoids.
- Install the transmission internal wiring harness bracket bolts.
Torque: 31 lb-in (3.5 N·m)
NOTICE: If the valves do not move freely during assembly, install a new solenoid body. Failure to install a new solenoid body may result in harsh shifting or transmission damage.
Install the valve body solenoids, springs and retainer clips in the solenoid body. For valve and spring locations,
refer to Main Control Valve Body (307-01A Automatic Transmission - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35, Description and Operation).
