A special wide-range pressure gauge and an adapter fitting for connecting the gauge to the injection system are required to check fuel pressure.

General Checks
PROCEDURE

1. Make sure there is a sufficient amount of fuel in the fuel tank.
2. Make sure the fuel pump is operating. Have an assistant turn the ignition switch to ON; a characteristic sound of the operating fuel pump should be heard from the fuel tank (the pump should run for about two seconds).

The sound of the operating pump can be clearly heard through the open fuel filler opening. If the pump does not operate, proceed directly to checking its electrical circuit.
