Body

~1min read

The body of the vehicles described in this Manual is of unitised construction, the load-bearing element being the floor panel, equipped with front and rear side members and forming a kind of frame, to which in turn the body panels, suspension components, steering components, etc. are attached.

Some body elements that are most vulnerable in an accident are bolted on and can easily be replaced. Such removable components include mouldings, bumpers, door panels, bonnet, boot lid and all glass. Only the most general body repair and maintenance procedures fall within the scope of an average home mechanic.
