Reading ABS Trouble Codes
When the engine is started, the ABS warning lamp on the instrument cluster should come on briefly and go off almost immediately. If the lamp remains on after the engine has started due to a fault, the ABS control module stores the corresponding diagnostic trouble code in the self-diagnostic memory. Codes are read using a special scan tool connected to the 16-pin diagnostic connector located under the front trim panel of the driver's door sill. If a scan tool is not available, take the vehicle to a service station to read the memory and perform the necessary corrective repairs.
The ABS trouble code identification chart is provided below.
Any corrective repair should be entrusted to qualified service specialists.

Clearing ABS Control Module Memory
After the detected faults have been corrected, the control module memory must be cleared. A scan tool is again required to clear the memory; if one is not available, take the vehicle to a service station. For more detailed information on scan tool reading, refer to the Engine Control section.
