Seat Belt Reminder Light

This indicator comes on when the ignition key is turned to ON (II). It reminds you and your passengers to fasten your seat belts. If a seat belt is not fastened, a chime sounds together with the indicator.

If the ignition key is turned to ON (II) while a seat belt is not fastened, a warning chime will sound and the indicator will come on. If you do not fasten your seat belts before the chime stops, the indicator will stop flashing and remain on steadily.

If the front passenger does not fasten the seat belt, the indicator light comes on approximately 6 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to ON (II).

If the driver's or front passenger's seat belt is not fastened while driving, the indicator flashing and the chime will repeat periodically. For more information, see page 26.

If the driver's or front passenger's seat belt is not fastened, the symbol also appears on the multi-information display(for the driver) or(for the front passenger). The message "FASTEN SEAT BELT" or "FASTEN PASSENGER'S SEAT BELT" may also appear along with these symbols.

The system also monitors whether the seat belts are fastened at each rear seat position.

You can check which seat belts are being used on the multi-information display.

The seat belt warning system activates the indicator if the buckle tongue of the rear seat belt has been pulled out of the buckle by a certain amount. This indicator does not show whether the seat belt is actually fastened. If the indicator shows that the seat belt is fastened, make sure that it is fastened correctly.
