Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) Malfunction Indicator

For vehicles equipped with adaptive cruise control
This indicator comes on for a few seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the ON (II) position. This indicator comes on to inform the driver that the CMBS has been turned off using the switch.
The CMBS indicator also comes on if the radar sensor built into the grille is dirty. After cleaning the sensor, the indicator should turn off the next time the ignition is turned on.
If the indicator comes on at any other time, there is a malfunction in the CMBS. In this case, a symbol is displayed on the multi-information display
which may be accompanied by the message "CHECK SYSTEM". In this case, take your vehicle to an authorized dealer for inspection.
For more information, refer to page 397. When the indicator is on, the CMBS does not operate.
