With Anti-theft Alarm
All locks on the vehicle are operated by the same key. However, since the doors can be locked without using the key, take care not to accidentally lock the key inside the vehicle.
For convenience, your Hyundai vehicle has two types of keys, as shown in the illustration.
1. ID key
This key must be used first to register the unique (non-repeatable) ID code in the ICM. This ID code is then recorded only on master keys. The Hyundai logo is on both sides of the key.
2. Master key
This key is for general use. It opens all locks on the vehicle.
The Hyundai logo is on one side of the key, and the “M” symbol is on the other side.
If your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft alarm system, master keys with a transmitter function will be supplied (EU only).
If you make your own duplicate key, you will not be able to deactivate the system or start the engine.
CAUTION:
Do not lose your ID key and do not forget your password. Remember where the ID key is kept and write down your password. If you have neither the ID key nor the password, contact an authorized Hyundai dealer.
