Hood Release

HOOD RELEASE

1. Pull the hood release handle to release the hood.

2. Push the safety catch lever up and lift the hood.

3. Hold the hood open using the support rod.

Before closing the hood, return the support rod to its holder to prevent rattling. Lower the hood to a height of approx. 30 cm (1 ft) and let it drop. Make sure it is latched.

CAUTION:

Make sure the support rod is released before closing the hood.

Always double-check that the hood is securely latched before driving. If the hood is not latched, it may open unexpectedly while driving, causing a complete loss of visibility and possibly an accident. Fully insert the support rod into the hole in the hood whenever you inspect the engine compartment. This prevents the hood from falling and possibly injuring you. Do not drive the vehicle with the hood open, as visibility is obstructed and the hood may fall or be damaged.
