PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE (PCSV) Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

The purge control solenoid valve (PCSV), mounted on the expansion tank, controls the passage between the activated carbon canister and the intake manifold. This solenoid valve opens when the ECM grounds the valve control line. When the passage is open (PCSV on), fuel vapor stored in the canister flows into the intake manifold.
