Description

The GDI injector is similar to a standard injector, but it sprays fuel directly into the combustion chamber at a much higher pressure and has a swirl plate to create fuel swirl as it exits the injector. This facilitates fuel atomization. The ECM supplies both power circuits (high side) for the injector supply voltage and ground circuits (low side) to power the injectors. In addition, power for 2 injectors comes from the same driver. Since the ignition coils are connected to cylinders 1-4 and 2-3, the injectors are also paired.
