Description
The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system consists of a throttle body with an integrated control motor and throttle position sensors (TPS). Instead of a traditional accelerator cable, a position sensor is used. The Accelerator Pedal Sensor (APS) is used to receive data from the driver. The ECM uses the APS signal to calculate the target throttle angle, and the throttle position is controlled by the ECM through the ETC motor. The TPS signal is used to provide feedback to the ECM regarding the throttle position. With ETC, precise control of throttle position is possible and external speed control modules/cables are no longer required.
