Rear three-point belt
The Kia Opirus also provides a full three-point belt system on the rear seats. Operation is the same as for the front system, and clear safety instructions help ensure correct use. Especially for adult or young passengers, it is important not to wear the belt twisted or too loosely. This chapter provides practical tips on how to use the belt safely and comfortably.
Fastening the rear three-point belt
1. Grasp the buckle and the latch plate.
2. Slowly pull the three-point belt out of the retractor.
3. Insert the latch plate (1) into the buckle opening (2) until it clicks audibly and locks in the buckle.

4. Route the lap belt portion (1) as LOW ACROSS THE HIPS as possible to reduce the risk of sliding under the belt in a collision.
Now pull the shoulder belt portion (2) upward so that the lap belt portion lies snugly but comfortably across the hips. The retractor is designed to automatically retract belt webbing that has been pulled out too far and keep the belt under a certain tension. For safety reasons, do not let the belt webbing lie extremely loose on your body.
Removing the rear three-point belt
Press the release button on the buckle and let the shoulder belt portion retract slowly.
WARNING- Never route the shoulder belt portion under your outer arm or behind your back.
- Never route the shoulder belt along your neck or face.
- Route the lap belt portion as low as possible across your hips. Keep the lap belt portion snug but not constricting across your hips. Never route the lap belt portion over your waist.
- Never drive with a twisted or jammed seat belt. If you cannot remove the twist in a belt webbing or the cause of the jam, have the affected seat belts checked immediately by an authorized KIA dealer.
- Never use a single seat belt for more than 1 person.
Failure to observe these precautions increases the risk of serious injury in a collision.
