Seat belt warning light and audible warning signal
The seat belt warning systems in the Kia Opirus 2003–2011 are an essential part of occupant protection. They combine visual and audible signals to remind the driver and front passenger to fasten their seat belts correctly, with variations depending on the model version. These functions not only help ensure compliance with legal requirements but also actively increase safety on the road. Especially at higher speeds, a timely warning can be life-saving.
Version A
To remind the driver and front passenger to fasten their seat belts, the warning light flashes for approx. 6 seconds each time the ignition is switched on.
If the driver's seat belt is not fastened when the ignition is switched on, an audible warning signal sounds for approx. 6 seconds and the warning light flashes at the same time.
Version B
To remind the driver and front passenger to fasten their seat belts, the seat belt warning light flashes or lights up for approx. 6 seconds each time the ignition is switched on.
If the driver's seat belt is not fastened when the ignition is switched on, or is unfastened after the ignition has been switched on, the seat belt warning light flashes or lights up until the belt is fastened.
If the driver's seat belt is not fastened when the ignition is switched on and you drive faster than 9 km/h, the seat belt warning light flashes for approx. 1 minute, followed by an audible warning signal for approx. 100 seconds.
If the driver's seat belt is unfastened after the ignition has been switched on and you drive faster than 9 km/h, an audible warning signal sounds for approx. 100 seconds.
However, if the previously fastened driver's belt is opened and closed again 2 times within 9 seconds, the seat belt warning light and the audible signal will not be activated.

The seat belt warning systems in the Kia Opirus 2003–2011 ensure that the driver and front passenger are always reminded to fasten their belts. The combination of visual and audible signals provides a high level of safety and prevention.
The intelligent functions, which respond to vehicle speed and driving conditions, are especially helpful. In this way, the Kia Opirus helps to significantly reduce the risk of injury in an accident.
This well-designed warning system underlines the high safety standard of the Kia Opirus 2003–2011 and shows the importance of always using the seat belts correctly.
