The system will be disarmed in the following situations:

Remote control

  • The unlock button on the remote control is pressed.
  • The engine is started.
  • The ignition switch is in the ON position for 30 seconds or longer.

Smart key

  • The unlock button on the remote control is pressed.
  • The front door outside handle button is pressed while the smart key is present.
  • The engine is started.

After the doors are unlocked, the hazard warning lights flash twice to indicate that the system has been disarmed.

If no door (or the tailgate) is opened within 30 seconds after the unlock button is pressed, the system will be armed again.

NOTICE - System without immobilizer

  • Avoid starting the engine while the alarm is active. When the anti-theft alarm is active, the starter motor is disabled. If the system is not disarmed with the remote control, insert the key into the ignition switch, turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait 30 seconds. The system will be disarmed.
  • If you lose your keys, contact an authorized Kia dealer.
