Driving up a steep hill from a standstill
To drive up a steep hill from a standstill, depress the brake pedal and move the gear selector to the D (Drive) position. Select the appropriate gear depending on the vehicle load and the steepness of the hill, then release the parking brake. While releasing the foot brake, gradually depress the accelerator pedal.
When accelerating after stopping on a steep hill, the vehicle may tend to roll backward.
Moving the gear selector to position 2 (Second gear) will help prevent the vehicle from rolling backward.
