The system may not operate when:

  • There is a malfunction of the sensors related to the ISG system or a malfunction of the system itself.

AUTO STOP () indicator in the
instrument cluster remains on after flashing for 5 seconds, and the ISG OFF indicator light on the button is on. If the vehicle is equipped with a monitoring system, the message will be shown on the LCD display.

NOTE

  • If the ISG OFF indicator light does not go out after pressing the ISG OFF button again, or if the ISG system does not operate properly, take the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.
  • If the ISG OFF indicator light comes on, it may go out after driving the vehicle at a speed of about 80 km/h for a maximum of 2 hours and setting the fan speed dial below position 2. If the ISG OFF indicator light still remains on despite this procedure, take the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealer as soon as possible.
WARNING When the engine is in Idle Stop mode, the engine may start without any action by the driver.

Before leaving the vehicle or performing any work in the engine compartment, stop the engine by turning the ignition key to the LOCK (OFF) position or remove the key from the ignition switch.
