Be sure to adjust the mirror position before starting to drive.

Your vehicle is equipped with both left and right outside rearview mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted remotely using the remote switch. The mirror heads can be folded back to prevent damage when washing the vehicle in an automatic car wash or when driving through a narrow street.

WARNING - Rearview mirrors
  • The outside rearview mirror is convex. Objects seen in the mirror are closer than they appear.
  • To judge the actual distance to vehicles behind you when changing lanes, use the inside rearview mirror or direct observation.
CAUTION Do not scrape ice off the mirror surface, as this may damage the glass surface.

If ice may restrict mirror movement, do not use force when adjusting it. To remove ice, use a spray de-icer, or a sponge or soft cloth with very hot water.

CAUTION If the mirror is blocked by ice, do not force the mirror adjustment. To free the frozen mechanism, use an approved de-icer (not engine coolant antifreeze), or drive the vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice to melt. WARNING Do not adjust or fold the outside rearview mirror while the vehicle is moving.

This may result in loss of control and an accident that could cause death, serious injury, or property damage.

Power type (if equipped)

The power remote mirror switch allows you to adjust the position of the left and right outside mirrors. To adjust the mirror positions, the ignition key must be in the ACC position.

1 Move the lever (1) to R to select the right mirror or to L to select the left mirror, then press the corresponding part of the mirror control switch to move the selected mirror up, down, left, or right.

After adjusting, to prevent unintentional adjustment, set the lever to the neutral position.

CAUTION
  • The mirrors stop moving when they reach the maximum adjustment angle, but if the switch is held down, the motor continues to operate. Do not hold the switch longer than necessary, as the motor may be damaged.
  • Do not try to adjust the outside rearview mirror by hand. This may damage the mechanism components.

Power type (if equipped)

To fold the outside rearview mirror, press the button.

To unfold it, press the button again.

CAUTION The power outside rearview mirror operates even when the ignition switch is in the OFF position.

However, to prevent unnecessary battery discharge when the engine is not running, do not operate the mirror longer than necessary.

CAUTION For power-type outside rearview mirrors, do not fold the mirror by hand. This may damage the motor.

To fold the outside rearview mirror, grasp its housing. Lift it slightly outward, then rotate it toward the rear of the vehicle. These mirrors pivot upward.
