GENERAL INFORMATION
Replace the fuel filter in accordance with the owner's manual instructions. Replace it if the filter warning lamp illuminates, indicating water in the filter.

PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the connector from the filter switch and remove the switch using a pipe wrench.
2. Unscrew the filter with a filter wrench, as when removing the oil filter. Fully unscrew the filter and remove the O-ring.
3. Install a new O-ring in the filter groove and fill it with a small amount of diesel fuel.
4. Screw the filter onto the filter base until resistance is felt. From this position, tighten the filter an additional 3/4 turn, either by hand or with a filter wrench.
5. Install the filter switch with a new gasket, tightening by hand only, not with a wrench. Connect the connector.
6. Pump the priming pump lever on the upper side of the filter until resistance is felt. This indicates that the filter is completely filled.
