Operating recommendations

WHEELS

~2min read

Tires and wheels are important structural components of the vehicle. Their correct selection for each specific model largely determines the reliability of the vehicle's handling characteristics and the overall safety on the road.

When selecting tires and wheels, follow these recommendations:

- For technical reasons, never install wheels from other makes of vehicles, and in some cases not even from other versions of this model.

- For technical reasons, never install wheels from other makes of vehicles, and in some cases not even from other versions of this model.

- Whenever wheels are replaced, for example when switching to wheels with winter tires or installing wheels with alloy rims, use only the fasteners supplied with the wheels, of the correct length, shape, etc. Wheel attachment strength and, consequently, proper brake system operation depend on this.

- Use of non-standard tires and wheels may adversely affect driving safety.

- When installing additional wheel covers, make sure that air flow for cooling the brake system is not obstructed.

- It is best to have tires and wheels replaced by specialists at a service station.

General recommendations

- Check tires from time to time and remove foreign objects lodged in the tread.

- To prevent possible damage to tires and wheels, drive over curbs and other obstacles at a right angle whenever possible. Do not allow oil, grease or fuel to get on the tires. If valve caps are lost, replace them with new ones immediately. When removing wheels, mark them so that they are not mixed up during reinstallation, thus preserving the previous balance adjustment.

- Removed wheels or tires must be stored in a dry, cool and, if possible, dark place. Tires removed from the rims are stored in an upright position.

Spare Wheel: Intended for temporary replacement of a road wheel.

New Tires: During the initial period of operation, new tires do not provide optimum road grip. They require a break-in period. Therefore, during the first 100 km on new tires, avoid driving at maximum speeds. Proper break-in affects their subsequent wear life.
